The first road game of the season for the Dallas Mavericks
The Dallas Mavericks hit the road for the first time in the 2024-25 NBA season to play the Phoenix Suns on Saturday night. The Mavericks are 1-0 after holding off the San Antonio Spurs on Thursday whereas the Suns lost a game to the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday night and are 1-1. Let’s get to the key things to know this game!
- WHO: Dallas Mavericks vs San Antonio Spurs
- WHAT: The final game of the preseason for Dallas
- WHERE: American Airlines Center, Dallas Texas
- WHEN: 9:00 p.m. CST
- HOW: MavsTV, NBA League Pass, Channel 29 (local fans), also Playback with Kirk, Matthew, and David
On the injury report Dallas doesn’t feature anyone new (Dante Exum is out, you’ll recall) and as of this writing the Suns have Grayson Allen listed as questionable for personal reasons, Bradley Beal as questionable for a right elbow issue, and Josh Okogie out with a hamstring strain.
There’s less pregame work than the last game thread because it’s the weekend and the MMB team went nuts after the Spurs win. If you missed any of that coverage, head out to the main page and click around,. We do have a longer, more in-depth preview from Matt here.
Dallas has the advantage against a Suns team on the tail end of a back to back, but they must press that point and take control early. The Mavericks were rusty in the first half against the Spurs and hopefully look a bit more sharp tonight. After the game I’ll be writing a recap and we’ll have some other work as well. Thanks for spending time here, y’all.
As you can tell below, you can join me and some other Mavs Moneyball guys in a room on Playback (embed below) during the game (though I may not be able to start it until halftime). Also consider joining Josh and I on Pod Maverick live after the game on YouTube, we should start around 11:45 pm. Thanks so much for spending time with us here at Mavs Moneyball. Let’s go Mavs!
