Dallas hosts Denver for the second straight game
The Dallas Mavericks (22-17) play host to the Denver Nuggets (23-15) for the second straight game. Dallas surrendered a 19 point lead on Sunday afternoon against this Denver team and has had a chance to stew on their mistakes. Denver had time to work on the miscues which led to Dallas having that lead. Here’s the things you need to know before the game starts.
- WHO: Dallas Mavericks vs Denver Nuggets
- WHAT: Testing their mettle against MVP Candidate Nikola Jokic and company
- WHERE: American Airlines Center, Dallas, Texas
- WHEN: 8:30 p.m. CST
- HOW: TNT, Max, Channel 29, and Playback with Kirk, Matthew, and David
On the injury front, Denver is as healthy as they can be. Lots of guys are still on the injury report, but they’re all expected to play. Dallas is of course still without Luka Doncic and Dante Exum. The interesting one is Kyrie Irving, who was upgraded to questionable yesterday. As of this writing, it seems like he might actually play, which would be amazing. Dallas needs the boost.
Look, losing another game after being up by double digits is maddening. Having to play that same team the next game can’t be easy, but Dallas needs to find a way to rally and actually pull one out. Their schedule for the rest of January is absolutely brutal, so a surprise win would be of great value.
As you can tell below, you can join me and some other Mavs Moneyball guys in a room on Playback (embedded below) during the game (though I may not be able to start it until halftime). Also, consider joining Josh and I on Pod Maverick live after the game on YouTube, we should start around 11:00 pm. Thanks so much for spending time with us here at Mavs Moneyball. Let’s go Mavs!
