A meaningful game, finally
Well, the end of the road isn’t far off now, but how far off? It’s up to the Dallas Mavericks as they play on the road against the Sacramento Kings as part of the NBA’s Western Conference Play-In tournament. The 10-seed Mavericks are on the road playing the 9-seed Kings. It’s the first appearance for the Dallas Mavericks in the tournament and given their situation they must win tonight and another road contest against the Memphis Grizzlies Friday if they want to advance to the actual playoffs to face off against the Oklahoma City Thunder. It’s a tough ask. Here’s the main things to know:
- WHO: Dallas Mavericks at Sacramento Kings
- WHAT: The first ever NBA Play-In game for the Dallas Mavericks e
- WHERE: Golden 1 Center, Sacramento, California
- WHEN: 9:00 pm CST
- HOW: ESPN, and Playback with Kirk and David
We have the clearest injury report for the Dallas Mavericks in 2025. Kyrie Irving and Olivier Maxence Prosper are out. Brandon Williams is still questionable with his oblique strain but given the importance of this game, I bet he tries to go. Anthony Davis is probable. Malik Monk and Jake Laravia are out for the Kings. The Monk loss is worth considering for this game.
Look, I believe the Mavericks want to win. Anthony Davis must play well and not get boat raced by Domatas Sabonis. Spencer Dinwiddie has to play his game. And someone else from Dallas may need to pop off. Dallas also has to try to defend well, something they’ve sucked at for sometime. We’ll see how it goes.
As you can tell below, you can join me and some other Mavs Moneyball guys in a room on Playback (embedded below) during the game (though I may not be able to start it until halftime). Also, consider joining Josh and I on Pod Maverick live after the game on YouTube, we should start after the game. Thanks so much for spending time with us here at Mavs Moneyball. Let’s go Mavs!
