Basketball-like substance
The Dallas Mavericks (39-42) are on the road on Sunday for their regular-season finale against the Memphis Grizzlies (47-34). It’s been a sad finish to the season for Dallas, they beat the loser Raptors who were sitting everyone and the hapless Hawks on a game winner, but otherwise, it’s been many losses as they back into the NBA Play-In tournament. Memphis has lost their last two, to Denver and Minnesota, but they’re resting so many guys they don’t seem to care either. Let’s see what else we need to know before the game:
- WHO: Dallas Mavericks vs Memphis Grizzlies
- WHAT: Final Regular season game
- WHERE: FedEx Forum, Memphis Tennesee
- WHEN: 2:30 pm CST
- HOW: KFAA, MavsTV, and Playback with Kirk and David
The injury report is long for both teams. Let’s just go in alphabetical order, starting with guys who are out for Dallas: Anthony Davis, Kyrie Irving, Olivier Maxence Prosper, Klay Thompson, and PJ Washington. Dereck Lively is listed as doubtful, which effectively means out. Caleb Martin is questionable. The Grizzlies have a ton of people out too. Santi Aldama, Brandon Clarke, and Jaylen Wells are out for sure. Then listed as doubful there are a lot of names: Desmond Bane, Zach Edey, Jaren Jackson Jr., Luke Kennard, Ja Morant, and Scotty Pippen.
This is an absolutely game for sickos. Dallas and Sacramento are tied for, but the Kings have the tie breaker and are playing the Suns. So… not sure what’s going to happen here, other than there’s at least one more game.
As you can tell below, you can join me and some other Mavs Moneyball guys in a room on Playback (embedded below) during the game (though I may not be able to start it until halftime). Also, consider joining Josh and I on Pod Maverick live after the game on YouTube, we should start after the game. Thanks so much for spending time with us here at Mavs Moneyball. Let’s go Mavs!
