Let’s go to Portland, shall we?
The Dallas Mavericks (20-11) stay on the road Saturday night, playing the Portland Trailblazers (10-20). The Mavericks played last night in Phoenix and notched a great win over the Suns. The Blazers have been idle since defeating the Utah Jazz on a Scoot Henderson buzzer-beater on Thursday night. Here’s the main things to know prior to tip off:
- WHO: Dallas Mavericks at Portland Trailblazers
- WHAT: Game 2 of a four-game road trip
- WHERE: Moda Center, Portland Oregon
- WHEN: 9:00 p.m. CST
- HOW: Channel 29, MavsTV, and Playback with Kirk, Matthew, and David
Due to the back-to-back Dallas hasn’t submitted an injury report as of this writing. Luka Doncic is out, as is Dante Exum. Dereck Lively strikes me as a gametime decision, leaning towards yes he’ll play, but who knows. PJ Washington and Naji Marshall should both miss tonight’s game after the NBA handed down suspensions for their roles in an altercation against Jusif Nurkic. Kyrie Irving said he’s playing tonight but Jeff Wade said on the Mavs broadcast he doesn’t expect him to. For the Blazers, Matisse Thybulle is still out. Toumani Camara, Robert Williams, and Delano Banton are all questionable.
Getting a second road win while short-handed would be great. The Blazers are a feisty team with a lot of talent though, so Dallas must take them seriously. Going 10 games over. 500 would be neat.
As you can tell below, you can join me and some other Mavs Moneyball guys in a room on Playback (embedded below) during the game (though I may not be able to start it until halftime). Also, consider joining Josh and I on Pod Maverick live after the game on YouTube, we should start around 11:30 pm. Thanks so much for spending time with us here at Mavs Moneyball. Let’s go Mavs!
