The NBA has released new home courts for all 30 teams ahead of the second annual NBA Emirates Cup
The NBA revealed new home courts for all 30 teams today ahead of the second annual NBA Emirates Cup. The second annual tournament commences on November 12, with the championship game being held on December 17th in Las Vegas. We can finally all rest easy now that we have seen the floors for the tournament.
Below is the Mavericks’ new court for the 2024 NBA Emirates Cup:
What stood out to me the most was that they got rid of the giant runway across the court; however, it appears as if the new scheme for this season is giant circles. The most appealing aspect to the floor was the decision to include the Dallas skyline, paying homage to the city. I also enjoy how the navy sidelines pair well with the blue court. Overall, the court scheme for this season is an A+ compared to last year’s, so kudos to the artist, Victor Solomon.
Hopefully, we will actually get to see these floors during the group play games at home. Remember, we never got to actually see last year’s rendition of the tournament’s courts in Dallas, due to apparent manufacturing issues. Maybe this was for the better, considering the Mavericks’ poor performance playing on opponents’ tournament floors.
The Mavericks are in the West Group C for the tournament, joined by their division rivals in the Memphis Grizzlies and the New Orleans Pelicans. Also in the group are the Denver Nuggets, and Klay Thompson’s former team, the Golden State Warriors.
The Dallas Mavericks kick off group play for the NBA Emirates Cup on November 12, where they will visit the Golden State Warriors, marking Thompson’s first matchup against the team he decided to move on from last summer. The Mavericks will debut their home floor on November 19th when they take on the New Orleans Pelicans.
You can find the new courts for the 29 other teams here.
