Dallas faces an uphill climb, playing their third game in four nights
Opening
- WHO: Dallas Mavericks vs Utah Jazz
- WHAT: The third game of the regular season, hopefully a bounce-back win
- WHERE: American Airlines Center, Dallas Texas
- WHEN: 7:30 p.m. CST
- HOW: MavsTV, NBA League Pass, Channel 29 (local fans), also Playback with Kirk, Matthew, and David
The injury front for the Mavericks is similar to yesterday, at least as of this writing. Maxi Kleber is out with his hamstring issue and Dante Exum is missing the game due to risk surgery. The Timberwolves don’t have anyone of note hurt or missing, unless you’re a big Leonard Miller guy (he’s on G-League assignment).
This will be the third Dallas Mavericks game in four days after they played Saturday in Phoenix and back at home in Dallas last night. That kind of travel builds in an excuse, particularly considering the Mavericks tip 23 hours after the last tip against the Jazz. Despite the build in complaints, this should be a really fun game. The Timberwolves are led by Anthony Edwards, who is more or less a professional wrestler in terms of how he promotes himself and the game. I love watching him and rooting against him.
We wrote far more last night than I expected so who knows what tonight brings. There’s the recap and stats to know, for sure. If anyone else has thoughts after the game, we’ll get them up here on Mavs Moneyball!
As you can tell below, you can join me and some other Mavs Moneyball guys in a room on Playback (embed below) during the game (though I may not be able to start it until halftime). Also consider joining Josh and I on Pod Maverick live after the game on YouTube, we should start around 11:45 pm. Thanks so much for spending time with us here at Mavs Moneyball. Let’s go Mavs!
