The much-hyped game also happens to be the start of the NBA Cup
The Dallas Mavericks (5-5) face off against the Golden State Warriors (8-2) in the late primetime game on TNT. This game is Klay Thompson’s first back in the Bay Area after leaving the Warriors this summer. On top of the return, this game also happens to kick off the NBA Cup group play. A win here puts the Mavericks back over .500 and gives them an early leg up in the tournament. Here’s all the details you need to know.
- WHO: Dallas Mavericks at Golden State Warriors
- WHAT: The start of a very road-heavy schedule to close out November
- WHERE: Chase Center, San Francisco, CA
- WHEN: 9:00 p.m. CST
- HOW: TNT and also Playback with Kirk, Matthew, and David
The injury report is diverse for Dallas. Luka Doncic is listed as probable and Dereck Lively has the designation “available” which is one I’ve not seen in a while. PJ Washington and Dante Exum are listed as out, which isn’t a surprise. Maxi Kleber doesn’t appear on the report, so we may well see him play tonight after sitting against the Denver Nuggets. On the Warriors side, Andrew Wiggins is listed as “available” as well after dealing with an illness yesterday.
If you’re looking for more to read in the meantime, please consider the longer game preview here which has some more details on the NBA Cup. There’s also a short piece here on the frustration with Luka Doncic on wanting the moment a little too much. Lastly, there’s an article about the Dallas three point defense.
As you can tell below, you can join me and some other Mavs Moneyball guys in a room on Playback (embed below) during the game (though I may not be able to start it until halftime). Also consider joining Josh and I on Pod Maverick live after the game on YouTube, we should start around 11:45 pm. Thanks so much for spending time with us here at Mavs Moneyball. Let’s go Mavs!
