Mark Cuban will be in the Dallas Mavericks’ draft war room on Wednesday and Thursday, reports Marc Stein. Cuban no longer retains control of the Mavericks’ basketball operations as he did prior to his majority sale of the franchise to the Dumont/Adelson families. When Cuban sold the Mavericks to the Dumont and Adelson family, he claimed he would have control over basketball operations “forevermore.”
Nico Harrison has been given autonomy by Patrick Dumont to run the basketball side of things for the Mavericks, who are coming off a Finals appearance.
The Mavericks do not own a first round pick and are currently scheduled to make the final selection of the second round at No. 58. This offseason, Dallas is looking to find a trade of Tim Hardaway Jr. in order to re-sign Derrick Jones Jr.
