For the Mavericks fans out there confused by the Luka Doncic trade… you’re not alone.
According to former Mavs forward Chandler Parsons, he reached out to ex-majority owner Mark Cuban to get his thoughts on the team’s decision to send Luka to LA and the outspoken billionaire seemed just as befuddled as the rest of us.
“I texted him, and I said, ‘I’m so confused,'” Parsons shared on FanDuel’s “Run It Back” Monday. “And he wrote back, ‘That makes two of us.’ … So he’s probably just as shocked as we all are.”

“By the way,” Parsons added. “This new ownership — Patrick Dumont and the Adelson family — are business people, right? They’re Vegas casino and real estate moguls. They know nothing about the NBA or basketball. So they’ve fully given Nico [Harrison] the keys to make decisions and bold moves like this.”
“I believe Mark. I think this is just as much of a shock to him as it is to all of us,” he continued. “His comment from back then is now coming to light about ‘filing on Monday,’ which is obviously being brought back up. But yeah, I mean, I texted him, and he literally said, ‘That makes two of us.'”
It’s wild to think that we’ve already arrived at the end of Luka’s run in Dallas after getting off to such an incredible start to his career.
Doncic is coming off of carrying the Mavs to their first NBA Finals appearance since the Dirk Nowitzki era and was a fan favorite, not only in the state of Texas, but around the league and abroad.
The Mavericks didn’t exactly get peanuts in return. But when you look at how this sets up the Lakers for the next 10 years vs. the Mavs, things definitely swing in Los Angeles’ favor.
