Luka Doncic’s passing and playmaking have helped the Dallas Mavericks get to within one win of the NBA Finals heading into Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals Tuesday night.
While the Slovenian guard is a wizard on the basketball court, Doncic recently remarked that he thinks his skills could translate to another sport.
“Obviously, I’m not fast enough to push the pace,” Doncic said during this year’s playoffs, via ESPN, “but my passes are faster than feet. I think with my vision, I can do those passes. … I know [my teammates are] going to run, so I just try to [find] them.
“I think I could be a pretty good quarterback, honestly.”
Don’t let the sports debate shows see these comments. They’ll start wondering if Luka could replace Dak Prescott with the Dallas Cowboys this fall.
Right now, the 6-foot-7 Doncic is one of the best players in the NBA. He nearly averaged a triple-double during the regular season and has kept up his production in the playoffs, posting 28.0 points, 9.3 rebounds and 9.0 assists per game.
Against the Timberwolves, Doncic scored 33 points and dished out eight assists in Game 1 and then followed it up with a triple-double (32 points, 13 assists and 10 rebounds) in Game 2, capping the night off with a game-winning three-pointer.
Doncic poured in 33 points again in Game 3, setting the stage for an opportunity to sweep Minnesota and send the Mavericks to the NBA Finals for the first time since 2011.
