There’s three months before the start of the 2024-25 NBA season, but a surprise injury could make it very hard for Dallas Mavericks guard Kyrie Irving to be out there when the new season starts.
A short while ago, the Mavericks announced that Irving will be undergoing surgery after suffering a broken hand earlier this month in training.
“The Dallas Mavericks announced today that Kyrie Irving has undergone surgery to repair a broken left hand. He sustained the injury earlier this month while training. Further medical updates on Irving’s status will be provided as appropriate,” NBA insider Marc Stein reported.
A short while ago, Irving offered thanks to those who have been sending him prayers and thoughtful messages. He said that he intends to rest and recover in preparation for getting better.
“Tribe, Thank you for all the messages and prayers. GOD truly knew that I needed to take a break from Basketball after the long season and give myself some time to heal. I am in love with getting better at my craft, but now I must rest and recover,” he wrote.
Kyrie Irving is coming off one of a very strong season that saw him average over 25 points per game over 58 games. He started every single postseason game for the Mavs as they reached the NBA Finals for the first time in over a decade.
Will Kyrie be healthy enough to play the start of the 2024-25 season?
