The “Splash Brothers” era is officially over in Golden State.
According to ESPN NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski, Klay Thompson plans to sign with the Dallas Mavericks for three years, $50 million with a player option.
The deal is reportedly part of a multi-team sign-and-trade that will also send Mavs shooting guard Josh Green to Charlotte.
Per Woj: “Thompson had four-year offers for more money, but taking less was offset by the chance to win a fifth championship with the Mavs and [a] difference in state taxes.”
Klay was rumored to be in serious talks with the Lakers and Mavericks, and LeBron James even reached out to the five-time All-Star as soon the free agency period opened.

Thompson’s departure marks the end of a historic 13-year run with the Warriors that included four NBA championships and six Finals appearances while helping to revolutionize the way the game is played.
The Steph Curry-Klay Thompson backcourt will go down as arguably the greatest duo in basketball history — up there with Michael Jordan & Scottie Pippen and Shaq & Kobe.
Now Klay joins a Dallas team in need of a reliable shooter that can provide the Mavs some offense when Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic aren’t clicking.
