The Miami Heat made an offer to the Brooklyn Nets for Kyrie Irving this past February shortly before he was traded to the Dallas Mavericks, sources tell Shams Charania.
The Heat are widely expected to pursue a big star this offseason.
“They made an offer for Kyrie Irving at the deadline, right before he was traded to the Mavericks,” said Charania.
The Heat could “circle back” on Irving, added Charania.
Miami would build a trade package around Tyler Herro and their available future first round picks.
Irving is an unrestricted free agent with the Mavericks and any deal to the Heat would require a sign-and-trade.
