With the Boston Celtics securing their spot in the NBA Finals already, they’re probably rooting for the Dallas Mavericks and Minnesota Timberwolves to tire each other out for a while. But will we see the Western Conference Finals decided tomorrow night?
The Mavericks head to Minnesota tonight after having won both road games to start the series. Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving have been a real dynamic duo but Doncic has done the heavy lifting, leading the team in scoring and recording several triple-doubles this series.
The Timberwolves managed to avoid a clean sweep with a win in Dallas in Game 4, but still have a long way to go before they even tie the series, let alone overcome a 3-0 deficit – which no team has ever done after losing their first two games on the road. They’ll need Anthony Edwards to play out of his mind to contend with the firepower that the Mavericks are bringing.
ESPN’s computer model has released its prediction for Game 5.
ESPN’s computer model believes that Dallas has the slimmest of edges in this game. The computer model gives the Mavericks a 50.3-percent chance to win Game 5.
The Mavericks would certainly rather close this series out here than take the series back home. The Timberwolves are just trying to stay alive.
The game will be played on Thursday at 8:30 p.m. ET on TNT and truTV.
