Colin Cowherd has been giving out Michael Jordan comparisons like Halloween candy during the NBA playoffs but they seem more deserved for Dallas Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic than anyone else so far.
On Friday’s edition of “The Herd,” following Dallas’ 124-103 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves and Anthony Edwards (who has also garnered some MJ comparisons recently), Cowherd spoke glowingly of the Mavericks star, stating that Doncic reminds him exactly of how The Airman used to play.
Cowherd believes that with all of the accolades Doncic has earned in just six years in the NBA, he strikes him as someone who could wind up being a multiple-time title winner before his career is done.
He believes that Doncic is so much better than Mavericks legend Dirk Nowitzki that the team can’t afford to not do everything in their power to build around him.
“I don’t just throw out the MJ thing. This is what MJ looked like,” Cowherd said.

Cowherd might be a little off with the Michael Jordan comparison but there’s no doubt that Luka Doncic is on pace for a Hall of Fame career and potentially one with a bunch of titles.
He’s averaging 33 points per game over the past two seasons and has finished in the top eight for NBA voting in each of the last five years. While Doncic could achieve his first NBA title potentially a year faster than Jordan did, Jordan was arguably better at this stage in his career.
Luka can be an all-time great. He doesn’t have to be Jordan great.
