The Milwaukee Bucks have held exploratory trade talks with the Dallas Mavericks centered upon Bobby Portis Jr. for Grant Williams, sources tell Marc Stein of Substack.
The Mavericks acquired Williams in the offseason on a four-year, $54 million sign-and-trade. Dallas sent out an unprotected first round pick swap in 2030 to the San Antonio Spurs as part of the deal. Williams has struggled with his three-point shooting over the past few months.
Portis re-signed with the Bucks on a four-year, $49 million deal in 2022.
