If you’re here often, you’ve probably already noticed we’ve started rolling out our preseason coverage. Just some appetizers to get you back in a basketball mindset, like reminding you that AJ Lawson is still here, and a preview of Dwight Powell’s new role on the team. There’s also been a few posts on how to bet the other divisions in the NBA, and Mette Robertson is back at it with her weekly column.
There will be plenty more on the way.
The Mavericks’ media day is Monday September 30th, and you know there will lots of fun stories, quotes, and pictures to come out of that gathering. Expect us to cover it thoroughly.
The next day, the Mavericks will depart for Las Vegas to open training camp. They’ll be on campus at UNLV from October 1st through 4th, then return to Dallas for the rest of camp. All practices will be closed to the public, unless the Mavericks announce otherwise.
The first preseason game will be against the Memphis Grizzlies at the American Airlines Center on October 7th. Next up is a matchup at home against the Utah Jazz October 10th, before hitting the road to face the Los Angeles Clippers in their brand new arena, the Intuit Dome on October 14th. The preseason finale comes against the Milwaukee Bucks back in Dallas on October 17th.
That all leads up to the first regular season game against Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs. The tipoff for the Mavericks’ season comes on TNT Thursday night at 6:30 p.m.
